Anticipating a Platform for Global Communication to Address Humanity's Challenges
Our university will host the 6th Global Engagement & Empowerment Forum on Sustainable Development (GEEF 2024) from March 14th to March 15th.
This year, the forum is themed 'Reboot the SDGs: Reset Our Future,' aiming to review the progress of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) over the past 8 years and discuss the formulation of future policies on a global scale.
The forum will gather various global experts including politicians, scholars, representatives from institutions, and startups to discuss topics such as AI, care economy, climate change, human rights, and development cooperation.
Speakers from 18 countries worldwide, including Ban Ki-moon, the 8th Secretary-General of the UN, Heinz Fischer, the 11th President of Austria, and Amina J. Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary-General of the UN, along with 91 speakers and over 2,000 participants from 36 countries, will reassess the challenges of implementing SDGs.
The event will consist of 21 sessions. Ban Ki-moon, the 8th Secretary-General of the UN, emphasized the importance of the forum, stating, "GEEF provides a decisive opportunity to reaffirm and strengthen SDGs for the future. Every small action will lead to meaningful change."
President Dong-Sup Yoon expressed hope, stating, "As a platform for global solidarity and cooperation, we hope to embark on a new journey towards a sustainable future together."
