University Symbol

The Eagle Statue was erected using funds contributed by students to construct the figuration of the eagle, a symbol of Yonsei, on campus. The Unveiling Ceremony was held on May 9th of 1970 which was the 85th anniversary of founding of Yonsei.

The Eagle Statue

The eagle stands 12.3m high with a 2.5t bronze eagle on a rectangular prism tower. The eagle is 2.6m tall and 5.2m wide. The purpose of the construction is engraved at the back, with the statue of Yonseian carved on all four sides.
