K-NIBRT and the RIGHT Foundation Host 'Completion Ceremony of Vaccine Manufacturing Training'

Enhancing Vaccine Independence in Low- and Middle-Income Countries


The K-NIBRT successfully held the 'Completion Ceremony of 2024 RIGHT Foundation's Vaccine Manufacturing Training' on August 2 at The Commons (Baekyangnuri). This event was organized to commend students who successfully completed the vaccine manufacturing training and to encourage their future endeavors.


The ceremony was attended by more than 70 distinguished guests, including Senior Vice President for Administration and Development Yongho Kim, Senior Vice President of International Campus Jongsoo Lee, Dean of Institute for Global Engagement and Empowerment Shinki An, K-NIBRT Leader Gyoonhee Han, Strategic Planning Director of the Right Foundation Hoon Sang Lee, and Director of the Global Training Hub for Biomanufacturing (GTHB) Support Foundation Hyun-joo Yang.


Anna Sanawati, a graduate of the training program, shared her thoughts, stating, "Through this training, I have seen the passion for developing vaccines in my country and gained clarity on the direction we need to take moving forward." She expressed her confidence and expectations regarding her country's vaccine self-reliance.


Hoon Sang Lee, Strategic Planning Director of the Right Foundation, said, "This training will significantly contribute to building the vaccine production infrastructure in low- and middle-income countries." He added, "We expect that the trainees will play a pivotal role in sharing the skills and knowledge they acquired here with their local personnel and relevant institutions upon their return home." Furthermore, he noted, "The Right Foundation plans to continue supporting workforce development programs."


Gyoonhee Han, Director of the K-NIBRT, commented, "This training has enabled many students to acquire knowledge of vaccine manufacturing processes, which will greatly benefit them in implementing this knowledge in their home countries." He added, "We plan to continue contributing to the global elimination of vaccine inequality by offering various programs aimed at nurturing a global bio workforce."
