Yonsei International Summer School(YISS) Attracts Record Number of Participants

Over 2,400 Students from 77 Countries Join the Program

Starting today, June 27th, Yonsei University will host the Yonsei International Summer School (YISS) for six weeks, welcoming students from universities around the world.

Since its inception in 1985 as Korea’s first international summer school, YISS has continually grown in scale. This year, the program will see participation from over 2,400 students from 77 countries, marking a 10% increase from the previous year and setting a new record for the highest number of participants.

Prior to the commencement of the main courses, Yonsei University held the '2024 YISS Orientation' on the 26th at the Main Auditorium to provide information about the academic schedule, special activities, and campus life for this year’s program.

This year's YISS offers 4-week and 6-week programs, featuring over 100 courses across seven fields, all conducted in English. Students will stay on Yonsei University’s campus starting June 27th, earning academic credits through classes and gaining practical experience through internships at domestic companies and research institutes. Beyond academics, participants will have the opportunity to experience various aspects of Korean culture, including Korean cooking classes, Taekwondo, K-Pop dance classes, Seoul city tours, DMZ tours, and visits to Nami Island and Alpaca World.

Meanwhile, Yonsei University, committed to expanding global education, recently achieved its highest-ever ranking of 56th in the 'QS World University Rankings 2025'.
