An international research team that includes Yonsei Department of Biotechnology Professor Roh Young-hoon has developed a novel RNA(Ribo Nucleic Acid) nanotechnology based approach for effective RNA interference (RNAi) therapy. Specifically, the team has devised a new microsponge platform for delivering multiple small interfering RNAs. This approach has great potential for RNAi-mediated biomedical applications, for example, in the treatment of cancer, genetic disorders, and viral infections.
The results were published March 1 in Angewandte Chemie International. The journal’s editors also chose the article as a “Hot Paper” for the issue.
